She has done internships in Chicago and San Diego before getting her first marine mammal job in the field. She has spent the last several years continuing to grow as a trainer with several species including bottlenose dolphins, pacific white-sided dolphins, and California sea lions. Lauren’s favorite part of her job is creating strong relationships with her animals and watching them grow and progress. She is currently a trainer at Georgia Aquarium, where she is involved in shows and encounter programs in the sea lion department. Lauren’s advice for aspiring marine mammal trainers is to work hard and stay motivated no matter what bumps you might hit in the road.
