Roshan Patel is a media producer living in Washington, D.C. He earned his MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University and has produced short films for a variety of topics, ranging from lions in western India to the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on deep sea artifacts and ecosystems.

His films, Pride and Red Wolf Revival, have won awards at prestigious film festivals, including “Best Short” and “Best Conservation Film” at the International Wildlife Film Festival and “Best Conservation Success Film” at the NY Wild Film Festival. He has produced and filmed for organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution, National Parks Service, National Geographic, World Wildlife Fund, Defenders of Wildlife, Wildlands Network in addition to several other conservation organizations.

Today, he is the media producer at Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, where he films and photographs stories at the Zoo as well as conservation initiatives ranging in topic from coral conservation to spread of disease through wildlife.
