Ruth Allard is Senior Vice President of Conservation and Education for the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation, based at the Phoenix Zoo. Prior to joining the staff at her hometown zoo, Ruth spent 10 years working in the Conservation and Science Department at AZA. Prior to that, she worked at the Ecological Society of America, and volunteered at the Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park and the Duke Lemur Center. An enthusiastic generalist, she holds a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Arizona and a Master’s in Resource Ecology from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. Through a variety of character-building experiences Ruth has learned that her skills and energy are best suited to work in science communication and conservation and education partnerships.
