Juliana Kim is living the dream as the senior mammalogist at the Alaska SeaLife Center. The main passion that drives Juliana is conservation, research, and making connections. Her job encompasses designing and implementing challenging training regimes to make science happen with Arctic ice seals to educating the public on the importance of conservation by making connections with the public by having them fall in love with Steller sea lions. With a biracial background, Juliana does not have any scientists or animal care colleagues that look like her. She finds it important to foster and mentor the next generation of aspiring animal care professionals to gain access to this career field and be successful.
